Upper Owens River Trips

The main source of water to Crowley Lake, this meandering stream is known for it's fish. From big wintertime rainbows (aka Crowley Steel, Crowley Chrome, Snowbows) to huge fall browns, or hungry fish feeding on top in the summer, this world-class fishery offers anglers a unique opportunity to experience some of the finest wild trout fishing in the region. Most of our efforts here are spent from October-March, while still lining up some trips in the summer - dependent on water and bug conditions. What the Upper Owens River is most known and sought after for are big the migratory rainbow trout which make their way up stream from Crowley Lake from fall to spring. These fish will test your skills, and we'll be there to help you win the battle! We'll also show you how to responsibly fish these types of special fisheries, through education on conservation, how the river and fish work, navigating the stream and proper fish handling techniques.

All fishing gear including rod, reel, tackle and flies will be provided. Water, snacks, refreshments and lunch (on full day trips) will be provided. All you need to bring is warm/layered clothing, sunblock/sun wear and a valid California fishing license for all anglers 16 years of age or older, which can be purchased at one of many sporting goods stores in Bishop or Mammoth Lakes. All trout fishing is strictly catch and release in an effort to help preserve and protect our truly special fisheries.
