Crowley Lake Trips
Famed as the Crown Jewel of the Sierra, Crowley Lake is one of the finest still water fisheries in the west, boasting a healthy population of rainbow trout, brown trout, cutthroat trout and Sacramento perch. Trout here average much larger than other lakes in the region, with fish topping 20" regularly. Sitting at an elevation of 6,700 feet, water temps are warmer than the frigid surrounding high country lakes, which makes for an ideal environment for bugs (fish food). Couple this with numerous rivers, creeks and springs feeding the lake and you've got a recipe for some stellar growth rate. The hatches here get huge as do the fish.
Crowley Lake trips will be aboard our spacious boat - find out more about the vessel here. All fishing gear including rod, reel and tackle will be provided. Water, snacks, refreshments and lunch (on full day trips) will be provided. All you need to bring is warm/layered clothing, sunblock/sun wear, and a valid California fishing license for all anglers 16 years of age or older, which can be purchased at one of many sporting goods stores in Mammoth Lakes or Bishop.
All trout fishing will strictly be catch and release in an effort to help preserve and protect our truly special fisheries. For those that like to keep fish to eat, we target Sacramento perch on our Perch Special Trips.

PM trips are available early and late season, when water temperature is cooler. Don't shy away from this trip just because of what you might've heard about the wind on Crowley. While the lake is known for it's afternoon wind, most days it's calm by late afternoon and we experience great fishing in a much less crowded atmosphere in comparison to the morning. Afternoon and evening can be a magical time on the lake making one think "where are all the fishermen?" and "do we really have this place all to ourselves?"

For those that like to keep fish to eat or just want a change of pace from trout fishing, we target Sacramento perch, also known as Crowley chicken as they are great eating (much tastier than trout). We target them in shallow water with light gear, making for fun fishing for adults and kids alike. They average about 1/2 to one pound each with 2+ pound fish common. With a limit of 25 perch per person/per day, it's not hard to see why so many people like targeting these for the fun and table fare! Catch and release is always an option on these trips too, it's up to you!
